book May 20, 2010 Tegan H. Vandenbosch (TINKER AFB, OK, US) Good, but graphic book. Arrived in described condition and a timely manner. Very pleased. Thank you!
unexceptional, but worth it May 10, 2010 overdrive sandwich boring! garth, baby, you're not grabbing my attention. i get it: frank castle is a hardass. and your artist is functional, but not exceptional, not that you necessarily care here.
but hey, credit where credit is due. if nothing else, it's a good little book, and it's got your familiar aura. cool. it's just not exceptional, and considering its rarity, i can't help but feel a little ripped off.
i feel like you're repeating yourself a lot lately, ennis.
A Glimpse into the Punisher! December 16, 2009 Daniel W. Warren (Jacksonville, FL) Before he became the vigilante called the Punisher, he was a marine in Vietnam. To me, it gave a glimpse into a man that seems he's always needed a war. It spoke of the idea that the Punisher isn't who he is b/c of the deaths of his family, that was simply the catalyst that invoked his wrath to the criminal element. It's almost as if his fate was sealed; that he was brought into this world to fight and exact vengeance.
I've read this book countless times and I never tire of it. The storyline is quite good, and the superb artwork has that gritty feel to it that I believe suited the story quite well. I highly recommend this book.
Frank Castle is the Viet Congs worst enemy. October 14, 2009 Nicolas Lemus (Chicago IL, Akron OH) I loved this story because it technically isn't a 'Birth of the Punisher' story. It tells the story of the evil & death that Frank Castle has alwayhs carried with him. An excellent story.
Props to all nam vets for having to go thru that September 23, 2009 Paul Salazares (Fairfield, CA) Besides this being an awesome story of where Frank Castle punisher's roots were sowed it is also very moving as an american to read, even more so for an american who has a heart for the human struggle to read. We only get one life and it's sad enough the mistakes we make on our own but to be commanded into a war experience by other strangers own is a tragedy. I have friends who would not be here if it wern't for vietnam but I know there are alot of familys who are less complete because of vietnam as well. This tears at me if for no other reason at all. Personally I respect all vietnam vets for having to go thru that. And within that there are many great stories and many horrific ones. I just wish the people who want others to go to war would send themselves or even there own sons. But they don't. They should go into a ring and have to fight the other countries leaders if they want a war so bad. I know there is more to it than that, but as for the leaders it never becomes as personel as for the soldier who has to do the diry inhuman job, for them it's just buissness as usual. I wish the punisher could punish them !
